Dalton Mosser
Founder | Managing Partner
Dalton doesn't talk about building things from the ground up — he has literally done it. With his own hands.
Hand-selected by investor and former CEO of a present-day Fortune 10 company to lead Virginia's most ambitious beef startup, Dalton's first days on the job looked nothing like a corner office. He was scrubbing decades of rust off metal rails, shoveling out abandoned stalls, painting brick walls, and working alongside contractors to gut and renovate an abandoned 50,000 square foot facility - the largest beef processing facility in the Mid Atlantic region. When production began, he worked the kill floor himself — no heat, no air conditioning — doing whatever it took to make the business go.
That miserable kill floor put him through business school. One day killing cattle as a laborer, the next closing sales as the VP, the next in the boardroom as President. No shortcuts. No safety net. Just a kid from the school of hard knocks, who outworked everyone.
He led the company through its first $100 million in purchase orders. The White House called. Their filets were served at President Trump's 2017 inaugural dinner for 200 guests. His prison employment program landed on the nation's #1 leadership podcast. He won a Shark Tank-style entrepreneurial competition. And he guided the operation through the worst economic conditions the beef industry had seen in a generation.
A California State rodeo champion. A college basketball scholarship athlete. An MBA candidate at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University — one of the top-ranked programs in the country. President of the Virginia Beef Company. He is proof that the school of hard knocks creates the most determined graduates.
Devan Mosser
Co Founder | Loving Wife | Exceptional Mother
Devan has never needed a title to lead. Before Blue Haven, she was running a dual-market cosmetology business across two states, homeschooling three children, and quietly developing one of the sharpest eyes for interior space and design you will find anywhere in this industry.
When she and Dalton bought their first investment property, it was Devan's instincts — and her hands — that transformed it. Then she did it again.
She is the reason Blue Haven's assets don't just appraise well — they feel like somewhere you actually want to live and work. That is not accidental. It is the result of a woman who has spent her life turning spaces into sanctuaries, and who now does it professionally, at scale, with everything on the line.
Our Inspiration Story
Some companies are built from ambition. Blue Haven was built from love.
In December of 2025, Dalton and Devan lost their son. Bennett Lee never came home — taken by late-term complications that no parent is ever prepared to face. He was their fourth child, deeply wanted, and deeply mourned. He always will be.
The name Blue Haven didn't come from a branding session. It came from grief, and from the quiet way that meaning finds you when you need it most. Bennett's birthstone is blue topaz — the color of calm water and open sky. And Devan, whose greatest gift has always been creating warmth and safety for the people she loves, found herself with a nursery she had prepared and a safe haven she never got to give him.
Somewhere in the weight of that season, the two pieces found each other. His color. Her haven. Blue Haven.
The groundwork for a real estate and business venture was laid during their starter-home years, as they renovated together while Dalton built The Virginia Beef Company. Bennett's passing didn't plant the seed — it simply made clear that the time was now, life is short, and the best way to carry someone forward is to build something worthy of their name. Every business Blue Haven touches will be, in its own way, a safe haven created in his memory for all that are involved.
Bennett Lee — forever part of everything we build.
